I wanted to finish some pleasure reading before I started class reading again, but alas. It did not work out. Currently I'm reading Ecology of a Cracker Child for my FTIS class. Good times.

I finally got around to reading Ian Rankin's "Travels through Rebus' Scotland" while at the beack last weekend ... good travelogue/autobiography if you're familiar with Rankin's detecktive series featuring the fictional "hero" John Rebus. Quotation marks as there's nothing terribly heroic about the character which is one thing that makes those books appealing.
My wife dropped Kate Mosse's "Labrynth" in my lap on Sunday night and told me to get started. It's one of those heavily researched historical jobs that focuses on the Holy Grail ... oh well. Those are usually fun at a minimum.

That one's sitting on my nightstand right now. I'm a bit of a Lincoln nut and I've read most of the Booth-related stuff that's been published ... that one sounds like a palatable re-hash ... which would probably land itin the top 10 on the subject, as most of it is decidedly unpalatable.

Just finished up Bowles' The Spider's House - highly recommended. Paul Bowles was an American writer who lived most of his adult life in Morocco. His novels are all set in the Middle East, generally deal with the clash of cultures between East and West, and are all excellent.
Now I'm on to Stonewall Jackson's Book of Maxims.

Right now I'm reading two different books:
1. Leadership - by Rudy Guiliani (I've been on a leadership kick with my books over the past few months. This is just the lastest one.)
2. A Salty Piece of Land - by Jimmy Buffett - My mother-in-law actually recommended it to me.

Screamer, 'The Game' is really good, i have it and have re-read too. Willow, i LOVE Charles DeLint. He's a nice guy and a pretty good fiddler as well as being a terrific writer.
I'm in the midst of "Animals In Translation" by Temple Grandin, who has a PhD in animal bhaviour, and autism. This is her second book on animal behaviour and similarities between how animals and how poeople with autism function and perceive the world. and "On Walden Pond" by H.D. Thoreau, who apparently did not have a high opnion of most other people.
On deck are "The Narnian", a biography of C.S. Lewis
a book on mountain weather sysstems
"Coyote Blue" a novel by Christopher .... uuuhhh... damn, i blanked on his last name! Anyway, he wrote "Lamb", which was hilarious, so i'm trying this one
"All Families Are Dysfunctional" by the brilliant Douglas Copleand, on whom i have a huge crush.
And some Irish language learning materials and some other stuff.
Yes, i'm addicted to reading, how did you guess?

"All Families Are Dysfunctional" by the brilliant Douglas Copleand, on whom i have a huge crush. Ooooh I have that one coming up.....I hate getting in a rut with a book, I have only ever not finished one book, which was just way too damn confusing (and that sentence also sounds confusing). I need to force myself to finish the one I am on so I can get back on track. Oh, and I am *currently* (as in supposed to be right now, and not posting here) reading a scientific paper....for the umpteeenth time...one of the things that blows about grad school....you have to keep re-reading stuff cos every time you find something new that relates to your research since you are constantly learning new stuff.
