Figured I'd start this puppy up early. What's a list of all that have declared? Who would you like to run?
I know Joe Biden, senator from Delaware, has, and I would certainly vote for him.

I'm wide open at this point. I'm watching several people with interest but it's just too soon to be able to nail down my personal fave at this poine.

I just know I don't want Jed Bush to win. Not sure who Jed is but the president's brother, Jeb has said he won't run. If he did, only the Republicans would be dumb enough to nominate another Bush. Its still way too early to specualte on 2008 candidates. We still have midterm elections to go through. How the war progresses next year will be a big factor. I have heard Biden and Bayh are already declared. Any GOPers officially in the race?

Ugh, Jeb Bush can't govern his way out of a wet paper bag.
That said, I think Dubya will win. ;D

puppet on the centre, puppet on the right, puppet on the left...it doesn't even matter at this point.

GW can't run again and likely would not win anyway. A shocking result to me of recent polls is that even with a rebound in the President's polls, Americans prefer democrats on economic issues by a wide margin.
I think the answer to the question is that it depends on the economy and especially the war in Iraq. If both are doing poorly, which most experts predict by 08, then a left of center canidate (which wont be Jeb Bush or McCain) would do well. Who that would be I dont know, probably not anyone we think of right now.
The democrats might yet shoot themselves in the foot by selecting Hillary or Kerry both certain to lose even if the public is really upset with Republicans.

Great to see you, Russ! Welcome!
Allow me to be the first to grant you a Karma point. Hopefully it'll be the first of many.

lol is that good or bad.
I work 7 days a week these days, about 70-80 hours a week. So until that stops, hopefully in about two months, I wont be here much. But its good to have the feud behind us.

Absolutely! It's been too long. The karma is a good thing, I think. It allows posters to sort of mod themselves a bit...if someone is being a jerk and enough people 'smite' them (I know you'll love that ) then I'm told that the system automatically suspends them for some length of time. I'm still learning about it, but if true, that's a HUGE advantage for us, as it allows the community to deal with idiots.

I'm not thrilled with anyone who seems to want the position ...
my worst fear? Pataki .... he's made living im NY nearly impossible for me - I can't imagine what he'd do with the whole country in front of him to ruin ....

He likely wont win. He is, ironically, considered to moderate by many Republican primary voters.
