I voted Edgar Renteria. The streak of reaching base that he put together (well at least when I last checked) was simply insane. I think he was an excellent pickup for the Braves.
Nomar has had a great year, something I didn't see coming, I just think what Renteria has done is mind boggling.

I went with the hometown guy. While Carlos Beltran wasn't terrible last year, he certainly wasn't Carlos Beltran. Now that he is actually challanging Albert Pujols for MVP honors, I have to give him the nod.

Even though I hate going against Mets when it comes to awards, I got to give the nod to Nomar.

hands down ...Nomar nice comeback season
Obviously Beltran has had a great season too so it is a toss up, but I dont think Beltran is considered a flat out comeback player like Nomar

Do I have a fellow Mets fan on these boards? You have me too now. And I went with Carlos Beltran. Putting my Mets homerism aside, Beltran was good last year, but not as good as the Mets were paying him. This year, Beltran is worth every dollar the Mets are spending on him and he is playing as the Beltran that Mets fans were hoping for when he was signed.

aye gotta go with ramoN..I was defintely one of those people who thought he was done for. I think Rolen deserves some kudos too...putting together a solid season after last year's nightmare.

Here I was starting to think you were cool. My favorite post season series ever is the '99 NLCS, grand slam single included. My only soft spot for the mets comes in the fact that they're usually underdogs. And they're not the Yankees, which is a plus no matter how you look at it.

I'll give you that one. The seconds after that Grand Slam single I honestly don't recall at all I was so excited. If I was in Shea, the Mets would have been screwed because I would have tackled Ventura before he made it to first. Granted I was 14 at the time, so that might have been a challange. Regardless, you're back in my good graces some now.

I ain't skeered of you, little boy. I am older!
(You know, I joined BBB.com when I was 14. It hasn't been all that long that I could make that kind of statement.)

Hahaha I never bothered to check your age. So you get me beat by six months nearly to the day. Bring it!
I was 14 or 15 when I first started. A little odd thinking we spent 1/3 of our life on one website.

Don't say it that way. It makes me feel old. And like a geek. And I am NOT a geek.

No no, you wanted to point out that I'm the young one, you're taking the title of old...at least until skrabs shows up here.
As for the geek part, I don't think there is any denying that everyone here is a geek at this point. Didn't get in it for the money since I'm just another broke college student, and certainly not for the girls since I'm going to guess you are one of maybe three that post on Scout.

I find it funny this award is sposored by Viagra. I guess if you are going to give an award to someone for rising from the dead, that is the perfect product to sponsor it.
I wonder if that was by accident or design?
