And it was the EXPOS forum that was the most active forum before the switch. Always had been the most active... As I recall, especially in the earlier days, the Expos board and Braves board used to have contests to see who had the highest post count. So while later Braves boards weren't as active as the Expos board (poor Expos, RIP), during the time period I was referring to I do not think my statement is incorrect. And yes, I remember the Mets community being nearly devastated by the merger. The Braves board was soon to follow, and don't even get me started on what I think of that. I don't even post there anymore.

you, like others, though I was attacking the community, the concept of the community and fanhome itself. No, that's wrong. In fact, I never had a stake in the matter of you leaving one way or the other. And, IIRC, you even made me a mod on BBB.net because I was supposed to have been a baseball mod when I was 16 or so (but the 18+ rule came into effect about 2 weeks before). I did check in on BBB.net for a while and I NEVER offered an opinion on you or your leaving one way or the other since I had no idea the circumstances that surrounded it. I am not here to argue about things in the past. I am not here because I'm abandoning Scout, either. If staying at Scout precludes me from participating on these boards, then I will take my ball and go home. But it shouldn't come to that kind of pettiness. There are only two posters that I would never like to see present on these boards, but that has nothing to do with the argument at hand.

To be honest, I was never trying to say hockeyboards was more popular or who started what or which is the greatest board. My point was it is being slowly taken away from us and I don't want to loose it. Oh, I know. I was just making that point to demonstrate how devastating the merger has been, much moreso than many people realize.

This is my first post here, I got a p-mail from TextSubject asking me to join.
I used to be a mod on the MLB Board before getting bumped for being inactive. I was inactive due to changes in my work and personal life that kept me away for a few months. I asked to be reinstated but was denied. I was a little ticked at first since I had been the only active mod for a year and had to handle everything but I undertsand they needed someone full time.
Anyway, what's this with the regular boards being disbanded? Does that mean the BBQs and the general MLB, etc. boards?
I don't like how when you go to the BBQ board, you can't get directly back to the team boards.
As for the pubs.....I undertsand Bill Shanks is trying to earn a living with his site. But when he says "Breaking News for premium subscribers only" and its some crap about the team siging some guy they drafted a year ago, its not going to make me give him money. Having a seperate board for the premiums is also annoying.
Then he has developed a legion of butt kissers who praise his every move.
Bill:The team has signed Klem Kiddlehopper, the 38th round draft pick and assigned him to thier Class Z farm team in Podunk, Arkansas. Read all about it in the premium board."
Other:"WOW!!!! That's great news. You're the best, Bill!!!!"
Please. anything he has to tell us pertaining to the team, such as trades, is reported in the mas media. I really don't care about Class A players, most of whom will never see ythe majors.
Then everyone throws a tizzy when you start a thread but don't put it in the game thread. If we didn't have ten stickies at the top we'd have rooom for more threads.
Anyway, good luck on this endeavor. The general baseball sites are pretty much dead at the old place.

Welcome LTBF! Honestly, if you ever want a Mod spot on any baseball boards, just give me a shout.
I know this is the rumor everyone hears, and up until a day ago I thought it was true as well. For anyone who is reading this thread, I can tell you it is in fact not true.

Figured I'd throw my two cents in as well - I'm mostly a baseball poster, been around since 2002, and have modded/admined the San Francisco Giants board since late that year (my admin status is quite recent). In terms of that particular community, and also the Oakland A's board (I'm a huge A's fan ), things are fine - most of the posters are still around and the level of discussions is pretty high. Why I'm here is the everything else - that sense of a greater community is gone. There's not much crossover, and that was half the fun. *shrugs* We'll see

Leaving aside why I'm here for the moment, a quick question about how we want to proceed vis a vis everyone at the current big site. Are we actively trying to bring favorites over? Are we limiting it to people from the 'old days'? Is this an alternative board, or a breakaway one? I'm fine with whatever, I just don't want to send somebody an invitation and then catch crap for spamming another site. If we are really restarting things over here, though, I'd love to set up the CEP board here and invite the old flaming gang. I'd be happy to mod it, too....administration of all the bbqs is a bit too taxing, though, so I'd cheerfully accept the demotion to just mod, especially if I can be under Shim.

Who exactly is in charge of the boards now? I know there are mods over each board, but who is running what's left of the show at scout?
I remmeber when JophnF started a rival board a few years ago he p-mailed evryone and got banned for it. If you are a mod over there you might want to be careful.
Maybe we can bring back noetsi. Has Grandstander been contacted?

I doubt seriously Russ wants to participate in a board in which I am contributing, but it would be great to have him back.

Would shim even let you be under her??? But seriously, some of the posters on the CE&P board are the most unruly and inconsiderate on the entire site. But if you're volunteering to keep them all in line, I have no objections to them being here.

Hi all. Scout.com Flyers board mod here. Formerly I was Roenickrules97, but new board= new name.
Anyone know when the plug might get pulled on the hockey side at the other place? I want to get our regulars over here.
Thanks in advance

But seriously, some of the posters on the CE&P board are the most unruly and inconsiderate on the entire site. Some of the posters there are unruly and inconsiderate, for sure. But then there are those who are thoughtful and insightful. Plus, this site doesn't have all the baggage of the other CEP, even if it does share some sense of the same history. I'm glad we're getting one. And I'm glad to have Nighthawk under me.

OH, and as to why I'm here:
I can't stand how you have to request to join every single separate team's boards. That's just BS.

Because the person that did the poll goofed when transferring which names were available from another thread. If you read through this thread I think it's all explained.

I'll talk with the rest of the football mods, if someone already hasn't, and give them an invite here. I know they'd be interested in going elsewhere. I gotta make sure to get TuffTitan over here if the general football board collapses, least we not have a guru contest this year......that'll make me sad if we lose that

Good morning everyone. Great looking site and very nice to see all the familiar faces. If we do indeed get squeezed, it's nice to know we all have a terrific place to go.
Cheers!
