That sucks, to put it mildly. At least he'll have plenty of time to get to form and as JR mentioned, it gives a couple of others a shot they might not have had to step up their game.
We had to expect this sort of thing with the shortest off-season and this one hurts...but it sure beats having this sort of injury and not having had won the Cup in June!

The more I tink about this injury the more I see it as a huge opportunity for young Ladd to take a step up in class and responsibility. Stillman's absence will create a gaping hole in the top 6 ... and without Cullen to slide up that means Ladd and Walker in particular will need to make hay while the sun shines.

Move Walker up with Cole and Staal and give Willis a shot with Letowski and Whitney.

Oh, I think Laddy will have a huge year coming up. I absolutely loved the grit, determination, toughness and single mindedness that he showed during the Cup run this past spring. He's going to be Yin to Staal's Yang for many years.

FWIW ... and with a huge grain of salt ... Schmuckland has added Carolina to the list of teams negotiating with Anson Carter. Sounds like wishful thinking by Carter's agent to me, as he's a budget buster for the Canes and I'm not sure how he'd fit here.

I don't want a millions of dollars a season Anson Carter on this team. I want a (maybe) million dollar (yes, singular) per season Anson Carter on this team.

Well ... add JP Dumont to the rumor mill, and that's one that fits a bit better IMO.

Yeah ... that's my opinion of Dumont as well. In both Chicago and Buffalo he sometimes didn't convert what he created with his speed and work, but his skillset and his work ethinc would fit seamlessly in Lavi's system.

I would take JP Dumont over Carter any day. Just say yes to JP.

Add me to the JP Dumont fan list. He drove me bananas as an opposition player. Would love to see him as a Cane.
