Pat Tabler just mentioned that the Jays have a new "Cruise Ship Horn" that they will blast after a HR.
Kinda like a goal horn in hockey?
Sounds cool.

Do you think Jaysmaniac will mention it in his Jays History thread in one year?

Yes. Most definitely.
That brings us to another question: do you think we'll still be using the HR Horn in one year?

No, it isnt. It was a retarded idea before I heard it, and now that I have, it is even worse to know the Jays chose just about the worst possible sound effect for it. "goal" horns after HRs is a minor league thing. ...though I suppose it is cheaper than fireworks.

I won't hate it until I've heard it used in person at the dome. Then I'll hate it.
Naw, I hate it now -- just the concept. It makes sense if your team's called the Mariners. It makes sense if you have an open air stadium right by the lake -- and the proximity to the lake is a part of the ballpark experience. But when you hear the horn, and have to think for a second before realising, "oh yeah, we are kinda close to the lakeshore", then it's a stretch as gimmicks go.
But I suppose it's better than those cheesy fireworks, and it's way better than the Rangers playing music from "The Natural" (if they still do that).

Meh... it gets the crowd going...
I really want to get annoyed by it. I need over exposure... Let's hit 10 HR a game for the rest of the season and see what we think of it then.
But I wouldn't care 'cause we'd probabally be in the playoffs...
