The A's have a real shot this year. Very strong lineup and their defense is sharp as usual.
Not very many division games left to separate them though. They need to just keep winning. But, this is the time of year they usually heat up. Remember last season?

Once again the A's look to be the favorites in the West. Its certainly too close to call, but unless the Angels pull their pitching together for good, I don't see it happening.

Definitely favorites for the West. I think they've got enough talent be serious WS contenders this year as well.
Swish and Chavez are healthy again, Thomas isn't letting up, Bradley and Payton have been playing out of their minds... it could get interesting!

I'll put my money on them to win the division, but it looks like they will be a lock to face the Detroit Tigers in the first round. Unless they falter a little, its hard to bet against the Motor City team.

Any chance he gets 100 rbi's this year?

He would need 32 more... it's a reach, but it's possible! He's playing like he's in his prime lately!

He still has a pretty decent on base percentage too despite his average. Although his is average is creeping up point by point every game.

I read somewhere today the Thomas has played in something like 38 games straight (or something like that) and it's how it's been years since he put that many games together in a row. He is having a better year than almost anyone expected.
It's sort of strange having Bradley batting third and Thomas fourth. Two new guys making the heart of the order. If it works........
Chavez showed signs of coming around with a go ahead HR, so he may be back in the three slot again before long. That would be nice to have three productive power hitters in a row. See if the A's can raise the their team BA above the Rays anyway.

That was just some babble. I'm not sure what I meant with what I wrote. I think I was trying to make a point that Thomas has exceeded expectations so far with his health - and his health was probably going to be what held him back.
So, is he going to put up 100 plus RBI's? I say yes, he's staying healthy and is getting in the games. I guess having a good number two hitter in front of him would help.
Another stat I read the other day, the A's worse hitter in the line-up this year has been the number two batter.
I think it has mostly to do with Swisher. He was tearing it up when he was batting down in the order and then crumbled when Macha/Beane moved him up.

I would love to see Frank get a 100'rbi's, but it is highly unlikey. However I still look for him to get atleast 30HR and 85 rbi's.

I remember the poll back at the other place aobut how many home runs he would hit and very few people said over 20, it is incredible how good he has been. The offense has been respectable as of late.
