The Mariners rookie righthander has yet to give up an earned run in 15 ^2/3 innings, while striking out 18 hitters.

Ya think he's future closer material?

I'm worried we're using too much of Lowe. Don't want his arm to fall off.

Awww...first his streak ends and now he ends up on the disabled list...

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- The Seattle Mariners placed reliever Mark Lowe on the 15-day disabled list Sunday because of tendinitis in his right elbow.

Lowe, 23, made his big league debut on July 7 after getting promoted from Double-A San Antonio. He did not allow a run over his first 17 2-3 innings before giving up his first two runs in Thursday's 5-2 loss, and another run Saturday night on a homer by Maicer Izturis.

"We want to be cautious with this kid because he's got a good arm, and we don't want to him to be out for a considerable amount of time," manager Mike Hargrove said.
