Huge 4 game series for the Yanks after coming off a pretty bad series against the ChiSox. The only saving grace is that we actually picked up a game on the BoSox, who were swept by the Royals.
This is the one team I don't want to see in the playoffs after they knocked us out in 2 of the last 5 years. At worst, I'm looking for a split here. The pitching matchups really don't favor us at all. I don't want to go into Monday looking for Johnson to beat Lackey to save a split.

Big series for both teams. The Angels certainly aren't far behind the A's, but the A's have a nice schedule coming up. Six games at home against the Devil Rays and Mariners, then going to Kansas City for three games. Oakland can build a distance for themselves, the Angels need to keep it close.

Arghh..of course we now sit where I didn't want to....needing Johnson to beat Lackey for the split. To quote a movie...One day we'll figure out how to beat these guys.
FWIW, Lackey is 3-5 with a 6.02 ERA, 1.62 WHIP & .293 BAA against the Yanks in his career. Johnson is 15-7 with a 2.94/1.15/.218 against the Angels. (0-1 in 3 starts as a Yank)
