CWS: RHP Freddy Garcia (11-7, 4.78 ERA) In a gritty performance, Garcia battled through seven innings against the Tigers on Sunday. He gave up three earned runs on eight hits and struck out a season-high six. He is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA this season against the Twins and owns a 3-3 record with a 5.80 ERA in his career at the Metrodome.
MIN: RHP Boof Bonser (2-4, 5.56 ERA) Bonser showed the Twins what they had been hoping to see from the right-hander as he held the Blue Jays to just three runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings. More important, Bonser was able to use all of his pitches and throw them for strikes as he showed better command than he had in most of his Major League starts this year. Bonser didn't walk a batter and got ahead in counts, the same thing he will have to do when facing the White Sox for the first time of his career.
Player to watch Shortstop Juan Uribe is hitting .323 (10-for-31) against Minnesota this season, including three home runs and five RBIs.
