CHICAGO Lawbreaking here has just climbed a few rungs on the social ladder. In an unlikely demonstration of civil disobedience, a handful of restaurants in Chicago that never served foie gras, the fattened liver of duck or goose, featured it on Tuesday, the very day Chicago became the first city in the United States to outlaw its sale. The illicit foodstuff could be spotted in places it was rarely seen when it was legal: buried in Chicago's famed deep-dish pizza, in soul food in the South Side of the city, beside beef downtown. "This ban is embarrassing Chicago," said Grant DePorter, the manager of Harry Caray's Restaurant, which on Tuesday served a pan-seared foie gras and scallops appetizer ($14.95) and a Vesuvio- style main course pairing foie gras and tenderloin ($33.95,) just to buck the new law. "We really don't think the City Council should decide what Chicagoans eat," DePorter said. = www.iht.com/articles/2006/08/23/news/liver.php

Foie gras is so nasty...
Not only is it fatty and foul-tasting but you may as well save time by opening your chest and letting it ooze directly into your arteries.
