A kid at work got me into this, it's rediculously fun. And what a wallet drainer, I got hooked bigtime.
It's rather satisfying to shoot people... with paint.
I don't know if I've ever brought this up before. I can't be the only person around. And if I am, GO TRY IT, it's so much fun. I didn't think I'd like it, but I was wrong.

It's so much fun, but it definitely takes away the money. It's worth it every month or two though.

Weird that you should mention this.....I tried it out for the first time this weekend.....my buddy wanted to go for his birthday........I hated it. To me, it's kinda stupid, pretending you'e in a war and you have to shoot soemone for fun......these guys actually drove up 7 hours from Ottawa to play where we were........they camped out, and brought their girldfriends too (who had obvious looks of "what the hell are we even doing here with these losers" on their faces).....they would be put in a cage-like structure with inflatable toys as protection and use strategy to try and beat a team and capture a flag.
All in all,
LAME

Not everybody pretends they're in a war you know. It's just another game people play. And it's outdoor here, no being locked in cages.

All in all, LAME Well it probably would suck if you had to drive 7 hours for paintball. That's not worth it with the money added on top.

Depends on if you have to buy the field paint or not. Field paint only prices = wallet rape.

I just didn't like it one bit. I didn't get hit a lot, so it's not like I didn't like it because I got hurt......in fact, I pissed off a lot of people with my sniping abailities.......still, not my cup of tea.
Did I just say not my cup of tea?

Depends on if you have to buy the field paint or not. Field paint only prices = wallet rape. Well here they let you bring your own paint, but you have to do a drop test to make sure they break. So I can get 2000 paintballs for $50 at the local paintball shop.

I have two full weight swords. There is no fun in paintball to me, though f'were I younger I might be into it since I was crazy into laser tag in the 80s.

Laser tag is fun if you're too scared to take the pain of paintballs. Come one. I doesn't hurt unless someone hits you from point blank range, and even then, it depends where your hit. I doubt anyone is scared of paintballing because of the pain. We usually do it once a year as a team building excercise where I work. THe good part about it is that the company foots the bill. We have a lot of fun with it. We break it out as managers vs. supervisors. Since there is more supervisors then manager, they have a ton of fun trying to pick us all off. We go up to the Pocono Mountains in PA for it and its all outdoors with loads and loads of different fields to play in. I got to admit though, if I didn't go with the people from work, I would never go. I'm not much for anything to do with guns.

Depending how serious your friends are about it, its worth trying out at least once. If nothing else, after our day is complete, I have to admit, I have laughed my butt off many times during the day.

The thing is, now that you're hooked, you'll be spending at least $1,500 for upgrades and looking for more expensive equipment. I have a friend who started with a standard rental paintball shooter. He went one time to SC Village to play paintball with another friend and now he's hooked. The last time I talked to him, he already spent $900 on his "gear" and ordered a new custom made gun. All I can say is this is a very expensive sport to get hooked on. Prepare to spend lots of money.
