I think that just about says it. Welcome back to the Caps board. I'll try to make this a nice place, once I can figure out who to bribe to take control of it. - Wil

Dum-de-dum-dum...strolling along...hey! Look where I found myself! How's everybody doin' over here? I'll be sort of a neighbor of yours by years end...gonna be moving to Philly. Yup! Enemy territory; Rival region; Foe -field; Anti-Pen Place...but! Look how much closer I'll be to Washington!! Right now I live, um, let me see...2,700 miles from there, so I'll be a tad closer, right? Woot!

Yup! You'll be closer, and not only that, but within easy driving distance.

Yup! You'll be closer, and not only that, but within easy driving distance. I know!!! Just gives me goosebumps all that hockey around there. Yes, I have to watch somebody play the Flyers at the Wacko Center, but we all have our little crosses to bear. I can go to Washington, NYC, or NJ, or catch all the minor league clubs just north of me...the baby Pens are a short drive away...hmmmm, baby! I'm gonna be outta da desert & back where the ice is actually used for something other than chilling drinks.

Wacko Center - Now how did you know us locals like to call it that?
LOL - Its appropriate for Philly - Its just too bad our Iggles football team doesn't play there. Its much more appropriate for them.

I liked it better when it was the First Union Center... The FU Center seemed perfect for Philly.

Yep, that worked too. Driving by the place on 95, I always felt like sticking my hand out the window and "salute" the FU center.

That's what Greg says he's noticing is the biggest difference between Pittsburgh & Philly; in Philly you actually get hockey news on TV at night. In da 'burgh it was nothing but Stillers 24/7. Most refreshing.

LOL - With the lover affair this city has with the Iggles, the hockey news is only about 30 seconds long, and if its Al Morganti, its usually wrong anyway.
Pittsburg has the Stillers and Philly has the Iggles. What's the matter with the state and the ability to pronounce their football team names?

Wow! You mean that's not just a DC thing? I mean, if one of the Redskins stubs his toe, it's the leading story. And this year, we're not getting anything in the off-season. At one point, we were getting some stories about the players and what they were doing in the off-season. Not any more!

With the TO soap opera last season, you would have thought it was the only thing happening around Philly for the year. 2005 was my official last year of being an Iggles fan, not because of the team but the fans.

It's great living in a NFC East city. I hate the entire division.

I'm not sure. I do know that Pittsburgh has their own way of saying *everything* but I didn't realize it extended further than the city limits. Now I learn it does...Mama, I've come home! When I first moved to Pittsburgh 10 years ago I bought a t-shirt & a small book with the language on/in it so I could converse with the locals...hehe. PITTSBURGHESE LINKWillow...yeah, I can relate. One year Pens training camp opened & I was waiting to hear what the times were going to be so I could go down. Silly me; thinking they'd announce camp on the sports news at 5. So the news was over & I found out that Jerome Bettis had taken his wife & mother to The Tin Angel for her birthday; I found out that Plaxico(?) was going to be giving away hats at the mall; but not a word about Pens training camp or who was expected to be there. Thanks to their bad reporting all those years, I developed good search skills on the internet. All was not lost. Pittsburgh doesn't deserve to have three pro sports teams because they only care about one. Good or bad, the Steelers get all the attention & all the money funneled in their direction. When I emailed the media about this one time, they replied by saying "Well, you'd feel differently if you were a Steelers fan."..........................gee, ya think?

It's great living in a NFC East city. I hate the entire division. So do I. My absolute favorite football team is whoever is playing the Stinking Cowboys. As for who I'll cheer for, I was a 49ers fan as a kid (Joe Montana) but, after a visit to Chicago last year during football season, I kind of like "Da Bears"

They're bad but it's fun to watch a team trying to build itself from the ground up.

Most of the time, when there's football on TV, there's also hockey. Gee...which one will be on our TV?

Oh definitely, same goes in my house. Although I'm not doing the Center Ice package this year so I'll probably catch most of the 1pm Sunday games.
Texans eh, not bad. I was born in Austin.

Can't say I would know. My dad was stationed there in the Air Force when I was born but moved back to PA when I was only 6 months old. I have always wanted to go back because they LOVED it but I have never had the chance. I think the wife and I are going to plan a trip for next year.

Yeah.... everything I've heard about it make Austin sound cool.
I'd also love to visit San Antonio.
I've no real use for Dallas though. ;D
